For anyone out there who has applied or is applying to UK/Irish vet schools for September 2018 start (c/o 2022)!
Congrats!!! I'm not applying to Glasgow, but I follow your IG accountI got my interview offer from Glasgow last week (by email), does anyone know an approximate time we might here from UCD Dublin?
Awesome, thanks, what's you IG account?! What schools did you apply to??Congrats!!! I'm not applying to Glasgow, but I follow your IG account
Last year I heard about 2 weeks before my interview. I'd check when the interview is scheduled for your area and go by that for some idea.Anyone know when we may hear from RVC ?
Did you apply to any other UK/EU schools? I've got an interview for Glasgow and would love to hear some feedback on how the interview process goes from someone who has been through it!Last year I heard about 2 weeks before my interview. I got my official offer from UCD in early January, I think those that interviewed got their invites in NovemberI got my interview offer from Glasgow last week (by email), does anyone know an approximate time we might here from UCD Dublin?
I was really wondering about the ethical reasoning test? I don't know if you had to do that when you went through. Also just any general comments/tips you might have about the process! Where did you end up going?I applied to, was interviewed, and waitlisted and eventually accepted at Glasgow two years ago. What would you like to know? Just how the experience was in general?
Thanks so much...it's so helpful to hear from someone that's been through it! Really good to know that I should be prepared for medical type questions...was it random stuff or pretty much based on your application? Would you say that preparing for MMI type scenarios would be similar to the ethics test?Yeah, they were doing it when I applied. We were given a certain amount of time (a half hour, I think? Can't remember) to evaluate three different realistic, ethically challenging situations by computer. I'm sure that they change them up every year, but to give you an idea of what kind of things you might see, I remember one of the prompts that I had was about a couple with a young puppy that had an easily treatable condition but was wanting to euthanize, and we had to detail how we would approach such a situation.
It was honestly probably the most difficult vet school interview that I had. The faculty were all extremely kind and helpful when answering my questions, but man... I do feel like they grilled me. Several medically natured questions, which I was not expecting. I left the interview feeling pretty ambivalent about how I did, but from talking to some other interviewees, that seemed to be the general sentiment that most had.
Like I said, though, Joyce and the others are all extremely nice, their basic presentation was great, and I had an overall good time. The ethical reasoning wasn't bad. The interview itself was just kinda roug, although part of that was probably nerves, too. That said, my only veterinary experience at the time was through shadowing, so maybe if you've worked as an actual assistant or tech, you might handle some of the more detailed/medical questions better than I did.
Iowa State. Was able to secure IS tuition, and decided to default to the cheapest option that I had. I don't regret that at all.
Oh man... I haven't heard anything yet! I did hear from Glasgow, but crickets from RVC and Edinburgh! I live in Colorado, so fingers crossed they are starting east and making their way west... slowly...I heard that some East Coast invites for RVC went out on Friday
Has anybody else heard ?????
That's what I am hoping also. I am in CaliOh man... I haven't heard anything yet! I did hear from Glasgow, but crickets from RVC and Edinburgh! I live in Colorado, so fingers crossed they are starting east and making their way west... slowly...

Congrats on Glasgow! This wait is making me illI just applied to Glasgow, RVC, and Edinburgh... but am also anxiously awaiting news
Also, thank you for the info re: the Glasgow ethical reasoning test and interview ... I have an interview in California and had the same questions!
I know, right?Congrats on Glasgow! This wait is making me ill
If anyone is waiting on news, I heard back from RVC regarding an interview this morning! It seems like they're just sending out requests as they review the applications, since people seem to be hearing on different days. (Or maybe they're organizing by interview location? Who knows!) Regardless, good luck everyone!
Congrats! Where are you interviewing?
I am interviewing in DallasCongrats! Where are you interviewing?
Got my interview invite for RVC earlier this week, interviewing in Dallas next month! Hope to see some of you there
Also does anyone know what percentage of people interviewed usually get accepted?
A direct offer?! Congrats that's HUGE!!!Received an email of acceptance into the 4-year graduate program from Dublin on Tuesday!

Hey I too got accepted ! Maybe we'll be classmates xD. With that being said, do you know if it's a DVM program or MSc ? I know we would be able to come back to Canada/US to practice (im a Canadian) but as far at the fancy initials that go after your name, would it be DVM ? Does anyone know? Also is their reputation decent? I know there typically a negative stigma attached to Caribbean schools and I was wondering if it was the same for UCD?
Congrats on your acceptances!!
I'm gonna say I'm not getting an acceptance then? if you guys both got yours last week! Do you mind me asking what kind of GPA you had applying? Mine overall was 3.71 and I thought that was decent?
I think it's a Bachelor of Vet Medicine and Surgery, so as far as letters go I think you get BVMS instead of DVM, but you're still a Doctor of Vet Medicine once you pass the Navle and come back to Canada.
I haven't talked to a lot of people, but the ones I have talked to seem to have great things to say about UCD! Are you applying to any other schools? I see you said you're Canadian - me too! So my domestic school is OVC.
My GPA was 3.71 as well. I have been working in a small anaimal clinic as a tech basically so maybe that helped ? I also completed my bachelors degree in June.
Am an Ontario resident and will be applying to OVC, this will be my second time applying there.
I also applied to 14 US schools and 2 more international ones.

I think it went well, they were really nice and chill. I didn't ask, but judging by what I've read on here people usually heard within a few weeksi interviewed today as well, how did it go for you?? Did they mention to you when they would be letting us know a decision? Forgot to ask
