Take a long close look at this article. This is what happens when doctors abdicate their leadership and allow the government to do a full takeover of healthcare.

Well, the problem is that this very thing could happen in the US as well. After all, residencies are subsidized by the federal government to care for medicaid/medicare patients (socialized medicine by another moniker).

If you really want to avoid such a scenario, you'd need to reform medical education and licensing to allow newly minted grads to hang their own shingle.

The beneficiaries of this mess in the UK will, however, principally be US along with other English speaking countries. Look for even more UK junior docs to look across the Atlantic in the future. Getting a residency is going to that much more competitive for IMGs.

"Our system in the United States is far from perfect, and perhaps getting worse, but we can't find enough doctors to fill all the vacancies, especially in the more rural areas.

If any of you are interested, please contact me at [email protected].

I would love to help any who are interested in moving to the U.S., whether permanently or temporarily.

Yeah Mr Reiger, make sure you also remind them that they will be working for less than a taco jockey(according to Panda).
