I am currently doing research there and I am applying there this year too. UMass is big into primary care--they are ranked very highly. They are also very intersted in attaining diverse classes (I guess that means that they're not so diverse right now), so if you're a minority it will help you here. Most of the Med students I know are pretty happy here. Also the residency requirements are very strict--but you said you're a Mass resident, so that's fine. And bottom line...you can't beat the price! I hope we both get in! sorry this is so general--you don't learn that much by doing research at a school...
