anyone know a cheap hotel to stay in the newark area? 😕 i have an interview this thursyday (so of course i don't think of looking until today) and haven't found anything under $100 (except for the ramada which is directly across form newark airport-but i think i wanna sleep the night before my interview!). any help would be greatly appreciated!!! starting to get nervous....

The thing about newark that I found out is that all of the hotels are near the airport >.< The howard Johnson I stayed at was fairly cheap and they had a gym and restauraunt as well as a free shuttle to the airport (its the holiday-inn/Hojo shuttle). It costs about 20 bucks to get a cab to the hospital. Oh and when you need a taxi back from the hospital (or wherever) if it takes them more than five minutes to come pick you up, call a different company; I was waiting outside for 45 minutes waiting for a dumb cab 😴 . I finnally walked over and hailed one off the street...

thanks zargos. i'm coming from CT but refuse to get up at 5am to get ready and drive to the interview. i'm sure some traffic jam would occur and make me miss the interview. 🙂

I drove up to both my boston interviews from jersey on the same day ... That being said, I would NOT recommend driving into newark during rush hour.

Did you try the Robert Treat Hotel?

the bus stop across the street from the hospital looked cozy

The Robert Treat Hotel...as the above poster just mentioned is a nice hotel...they have a good restuarant on the ground floor and its a few minutes away by taxi to UMDNJ
