UMich "Automatic" Interview???

I have heard a rumor that UMich has an "automatic" interview system in which interviews are granted to those above certain gpa/mcat cutoffs. Any truth to this rumor? If so, how has it worked in the past (e.g. getting contacted, timing, etc.). Thanks!
