Hey Yall! So I'm stuck between Umich and Temple. I know for a 10000% fact that I want to specialize, not interested in being a general dentist or Pediatric. The cost comes out to be the same for both.

Umich:
Pros-
higher chance of specializing?
"Best Dental School" in the country

Cons-

stress level? I've heard mixed reviews about how stressful it is
alleged problems with management?

Temple:
Pros-
diverse patients
problems with management.
less competitive environment

Cons:
Terrible neighborhood
not many students specialize

You are 1000% sure you want to specialize?

Michigan is only the "best" when it comes to research funding. It is a third class school with first class research. But none of the faculty in clinic care about evidence based dentistry, so you essentially gain nothing from the research quality once you are out of didactic classes.

If you are really 1000% that you want to specialize, and it is the cheapest, go for it. If not, I would stay away.
