Have they stopped giving out interviews?
Mbai2 said:There's only two interview dates left at UMich. One is the on 2/24 and another is mid-March. I'm really not sure if these spots have all been filled or not.
ti89 said:I figure 2/24 is filled as it is less then 2 weeks away and normally they are good about giving you enough notice to plan a flight etc if you need to.
I thought they had interview dates 3/3 and 3/10 from what i read.
BDiesel said:I'm not sure if this would matter, but we (undergrads at least) have "spring" break from feb 25th to march 5th, so Friday march 3rd, no students will be in AA. I'm not sure if med students have the same break as we do though.
But don't most schools offer ~2 times the number acceptances as seats (in other words when they are done they will have offered 200%)? If so there would be many more available.attaboybambeeks said:Michigan has offered 95% of their seats! This is according to their admissions homepage which they updated today. USNEWS claims they interviewed 429 kids last year. Assuming 5% of the seats are still available, that leaves about 21 open spots remaining. Are there two or just one interview dates remaining. i thought there was one in the beginning of march in addition to the one this friday. There also must be a lot of brillaint applicants on waitlist. Seems like its come down to the wire. Thoughts?

Then again they will probably be a bit more conservative this year considering the overenrollment of last year.ti89 said:Not what they mean I think.
I think they know that and offer ~350 to 400 seats. so .05*350 or so is how many seats they have left.

I think this question was raised in an earlier chat. They are offering ~325-350 acceptances this year due to the over-enrollment from last year. This way, they may be able to get some waitlist movement.ti89 said:Not what they mean I think.
