UNC vs. ECU (both IS)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Everyone will tell you In the long run clinical experience in dental school amounts to very little. So you did 3 more (insert procedure here). Once you start practicing or do a GPR you’re going to make up that volume in such little time.

Everyone on here will also tell you that dental school is basically just a formality for getting a degree so you can practice, and to go to the cheapest school. Period. You’ll graduate from either program with enough skill to pass boards and obtain your license. you’ll have to learn and refine your skills once you start practicing anyway, so do yourself a favor and go to the cheapest school.

Thus concludes the summary and distillation of over 3,000 “help me decide school x vs y” threads

also, read through this thread. UNC (IS) vs ECU (IS)

seems like consensus is ECU, with some dissenters if you want to specialize but also a few rebuttals. But ECU if you are set on GP.

Seeing 1-2 patients a day almost every day. D4
This is what a D4 at UNC said. Maybe reach out to them for more info on clinics.

Yeah, in terms of being close to home that is something that you need to essentially assign a value to. Is it worth the additional loan amount to live close to home? Only you can answer that. Also Greenville is what, 1.5 hours from Chapel Hill? Thats not much to add on to a drive
