Hi everyone! I was just curious if later on you want to apply to specialty or residency programs, does your undergrad gpa play a factor? Would your undergrad gpa be asked for anything anymore once you're in dental school?

Any questions/input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I know that omfs looks at it, i think it really matters for the 6 yr md combined programs though. Yah-e is a great example of how even with a below average gpa there is a way to not let your undergrad gpa hold u back if it isnt great

It's possible, which I guess means no coasting through the last semester. :p

I guess it may matter in OMFS if you are applyig to 6 year programs that have prestigious medical schools, otherwise I think it won't matter. That's what couple of OMS guys tell me and they are already in residency.

Thanks for all the helpful replies!

when do you apply for the OMF programs?
