at our school, if you get a good grade in anatomy, you can be an undergraduate teacher's assistant. basically this gets you the chance to help students learn anatomy at open lab, design a practical, help teach a lab, and dissect cadavers. i was wondering how helpful this would be for the application process. i was thinking it would be a good manual dexterity prover.
thanks
NOTE that I'm NOT in dental school yet, but am currently finishing up grad school, so take this with as much NaCl as you see fit.
I think it's a wonderful idea!
Some advantages I see right off the bat are:
Manual dexterity is most definitely required,
You're taking a leadership role,
It's practically volunteer work for how much they pay you,
It provides a service to the students,
Doing it, you'll interact with a broad range of personalities,
You'll develop your communication skills,
It reinforces the concepts you learned when you took the course, so you'll get VERY familiar with the material, which can't hurt.
I say go 4 it!
