I always go to office hours and try to see how the professor thinks and what they want....if you figure this out, you'll be set!

And don't worry if you get bad grades at first,.....as long as you pull them up you can still get in....just learn to study differently to produce good test results......I wish I could have done this for the mcat, but didn't work, however it did work in my undergrad school (which I would say is pretty difficult in terms of grading)

    Good luck! :D

I've got the same problem!! Biology is the only class that I do this in...everything else I do great in. I got all A's in high school in Biology including AP and honors classes. I just don't understand it!! I feel you pain docmira. I was thinking about going to the tutoring center at school and asking them what I think I'm doing wrong or what hints they could give me to improve my study skills. And here I thought my study skills were superb. I guess not in Bio though :(
    Good luck! :)

Recepie for success on undergrad exams (at least for myself): For classes like chemistry and phyisics, work a $hitload of problems, many more than are assigned. Usually the professor would assign random number of problems from the end of the chapter; I would do ALL of the problems at the end of the chapter! When test day came I was done with the exam farily quickly and did well.

For biology, record lectures and go over your notes listening to your recording (filling in blanks in your notes). When you record lectures you tend to write less and thus pay more attention to what the professor says.
