See link to investor page for the press release for UNH 2020 Q1
to summarize:
- Too and bottom line beat
- Company maintained yearly guidance, and are privy to several weeks of data for Q2 informing on full impact of Covid.
- Increased cash holding significantly during Q
able to do this in spite of:
No furloughs at all thru out company
Hazard pay for any patient facing employee
No patient obligation for any Covid testing or treatment including hospitalization
I wonder if the govt will look at this and force some concessions considering that hospitals and medical groups will need bailouts, similar to the auto insurance industry. If UNH hadn’t raised cash holding significantly the beat would have been embarrassingly high.
