Hi y'all, I am applying this cycle but I am worried about my clinical experience hours. Stats are 515/3.84. I have around ~100h across two hospitals right now, but I had to step down from my volunteer position last Feb because of family troubles/job hunting/other things going on in my life.
I do have ~100 hours at a free clinic but I'm not sure if it counts as clinical volunteering. I'm working more on the nutrition/health education/preventative health end.
Something that is unique about my position is that I have some healthcare related ECs that have really shaped my path. I worked on the event planning end of health at an FQHC & I am volunteering for preventative health task force in an underserved community. But again not sure if they count as clinical experience.
I'm scribing for my gap year, but haven't started the position so I can't list it in my activities. I'm not sure how heavily adcoms weigh gap year clinical work.
Just would like to hear some thoughts!
