i highly doubt you will get a pre-match at U of M. from what i know they rarely ever do that.

but you might as well ask and have a go at the idea....if you can pull it off, that would be fantastic.

might i ask what kind of credentials you had and what your *application:interviews* ratio was? im just trying to eye out the trends for when i apply next year.
