I was wondering if a resident or student from the Univ. of Michigan can let me know what the Anesthesia program is like? What is your call schedule, how are the faculty, are you happy there? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

Michigan is definitely a great program, but when I interviewed there I was turned off by 2 things.
1. Huge program, some like this
2. The last yr is essentially general anesthesia thereby forcing you to do a fellowship if you really wanted to, for example focus your practice on hearts. They dont allow you to do more than a few months in any given subspecialty. Nevertheless, it's a very well respected program where you'll get great training.
