University of Bristol 2024-2025 hopefuls

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I emailed Bristol that I accept their offer and I also asked them about if it’s undergrad or postgrad on FAFSA. So I’ll keep an update once I get it. I also would love to join a group if someone makes it 😁
Congrats again!! It’s officially official 🤗, and yeah please give us an update on what they respond with. Maybe after the holidays I’ll see about starting a FB messenger group at least to get everyone starting to get to know each other.

Incase anyone else is waiting for a response from Bristol, I emailed them and they responded within 24 hours:

“Our Admissions team is currently reviewing your application.

We have received all the necessary information we need, and no further action is required of you at this time.

I appreciate that this is an anxious wait, and we will do everything we can to let you know the decision as soon as we can.

In the meantime, if you have further questions or require additional information, please contact us and we will be happy to advice.”

Has anyone (that has been accepted) heard from Bristol yet about financial aid, visas, and other essentials we need to know about? I’m trying to get a timeline on when things need to get done so there is no delay.

No, I still haven't received too much information from Bristol. I occasionally have been getting emails from them about things like "starting your bristol bucket list" or "learn from the best", etc. But one of those emails stated more about funding options but takes you to either a page for scholarships or cost of living. Other than that, I wouldn't say I've received any formal emails from the school about financial aid, visas, or others. The best source of info for some of what your asking is on the offer email, but only provides so much.

Idk if anyone cares but I did recently reach out to the school to plan a date to visit the campus as well as when they plan to hold their in person offer holder event. To their in person event, they don't have a date planned currently (I was hoping they would do it before decision day in April...). As for visiting the campus, they did say they can contact the vet school to arrange for a tour. My plan was to visit the campus but also communicate with the staff at the school about housing, financial aid, and more. So I think if you reach of to the school, they can provide more info on what you need.

Did anyone ever receive an invite for the offer holder day?
I haven't received an invite by email, but I reached out to them and received this response today:

"Details of the events can be found on our website here Veterinary Science Accelerated Graduate Entry | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

If you are available to attend one of these in person sessions at Langford Campus, please us know your preferred date and if you wish to attend with any guests. A variety of activities will also be available in Bristol, details of which you can find here Student life activities | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

Should you be interested in any of the specific activities being held in Bristol then please let us know so that we can check availability."

I just got accepted into the accelerated program for 2025. I received the email today (3/10/25) at 11:04am EST. I’m very excited to be on this journey, and I look forward to meeting many of you! Are any of you moving with a partner or pets? I am, and I would love to hear anyone’s advice if they have any!

Congratulations! I am also moving (most likely will accept my offer to Bristol or Edinburgh) with my partner and 2 cats. Still figuring out the logistics as well, especially for my partner's visa and financial aid. If you have any advice, I'm also looking for any suggestions or tips for the move.

You cannot get your partner a visa through being a student- they will have to apply for one on their own through their own channels. many places changed how spousal visas can be given and veterinary medicine programs (as they are not considered doctorate programs in these countries) are not available for visas for spouses. Recommend looking into working visas/ getting a job to sponsor them. It’s quite difficult but doable I wish you luck!

I got accepted into the 4 year program yesterday! Really don't know what to do now because I had been pretty set on Glasgow, but since Bristol would take a year less I'm conflicted.

hey guys do you receive all unconditional or conditional offers like maintaining some gpa?
So from what I understand (someone correct me if I’m wrong) unconditional is when you are done completing the requirements to get into the program, while conditional is you are still working on your degree and have to maintain a good gpa. So for me I got unconditional offer, meaning I have a guaranteed spot since I have met my requirements with my degrees and my gpa.
