Hi there

I just come back from the interview today (I just posted a feedback). I checked online the school stats and I just realized that they interview only a few students.
There are only 4 interview days throughout this year, and they invite about 23-25 students each time (including early decision applicants).
On Pharmcas, it says they accepted about 120 students, so how are they going to fill their class?!
I find this kinda weird.

Hmmm, that is bizzare. Buffalo is a big school and I thought they enrolled a pretty decent sized class. The numbers don't add up. You could always call on Monday to verify their anticipated class size and number of acceptance letters they plan to send out.

I go to UB-Pharm. Buffalo has an extensive early decision program and those UB students are not interviewed.

The P1 class right now is about 120 students.

I would have liked to have been there today to meet prospective students like you, but UB is keeping me busy with about 5 exams coming up this week. 😀

Any idea roughly how many seats are already occupied by the early decision programs students?

'bout half. Don't quote me on that, though.

Hey juliarx,

I'm glad to hear that your interview at Buffalo went well. I just have a few questions for you. How long before the interview did they invite you? What are your stats (if you don't mind sharing)? Do you live in that area? If not, what was the travel like? How long did they say it would take for them to notify you of your acceptance? I'm really hoping I'll get invited to the next interview session. 🙂

Good grief... that's a lot!

It's even more at St. Johns and LIU

Albany and Buffalo are the best bets for a transfer in New York State.

Albany is just as bad as St. Johns and LIU! I made the mistake of applying to ONLY Albany and LIU last year. I was rejected by Albany and wait-listed at LIU, which ultimately resulted in them not having a seat for me. I decided not to even bother with either of them this year! I knew Buffalo had an early decision program but I had no idea that many people would have seats!:meanie:

Did you get an interview yet at UB?

It's a good school here. There's a lot I would change... But they do care about churning out good pharmacists.

They emailed to let me know about 3 weeks before the interview, and I received an official invitation by mail 4 days later.
I’ll be graduating this year with BS in chemistry at Penn State. I have a 3.95 GPA and 99 percentile on the PCAT.
It took me about 1h30 to drive from Erie, PA to Buffalo, NY.
I’m not quite sure, but I think they have already filled the interview sessions because there are only one in February and another one in March and I was able to choose which session so I picked the earliest one as I received their email. I might be wrong but you should call and ask them.

On the above link it says that even UB students have to be interviewed.
Are you sure about that?

Hi,

I was at Saturday's interview too - I asked Cindy (asst. admissions dean, the one who sends out all the emails, I'm sure you can call/email her if you have questions) and she said that everyone from that interview should find out if they got in by this coming week! She also said that the early assurance candidates (people who went to UB undergrad) were very strong this year, they had their required interviews first and they are accepting a lot of them, so they are only accepting 40-49 regular decision people. Since there were only 20 something people at this one and only one more in March, I'd guess there are going to be more people at the March one or else they'd be accepting almost everyone - I really don't know, but I would guess that there's a chance they're still inviting for the March interview, because even though I heard a while ago there were people at the interview who were invited very close to the interview date.

Good luck julia, calrx and nerdystar!!

Did you actually find about the decision?
