The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine was recently granted approval for a permanent increase in the size of the residency program. To balance out the trainees in the program, we are currently accepting applications for a PGY-3 level transfer resident to start in July 2012.

This is a fully-accredited ACGME residency program affiliated with an NCI-designed comprehensive cancer center located in Sacramento, California. The department is equipped with 3 linear accelerators, including a Tomotherapy unit and is a leader in IGRT/IMRT technology. An active gamma knife Perfexion and brachytherapy program exists, as well as a growing SBRT practice. The department has 6 full-time physician faculty members and a strong physics and radiobiology core. As a full member of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), the department is committed to clinical trial development. Opportunities for clinical, physics, and translational research exist for the motivated individual.

Qualified candidates will have completed 1 year of radiation oncology training, in good standing, in any approved ACGME program. Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, letter of interest, and academic references to Allen M. Chen, M.D ([email protected]), Residency Program Director, Department of Radiation Oncology, University of California, Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, 4501 X Street, Suite G120, Sacramento, CA 95817.
