Fulfill academic prerequisites.
Take the Dental Admission Test (DAT) and send scores directly from the Dental Association (either American or Canadian).
AADSAS Application: Apply through the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) including submittal of all official transcripts, DAT scores and letters of recommendation. AADSAS application processing typically takes 4-6 weeks. Once your AADSAS application is received by the UDM Office of Dental Admissions, an acknowledgement will be sent to you via email or standard postal service.
University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry Supplemental Application: Submit a small photo with your signature on the back (for identification purposes), and a supplemental application fee of $75.00 (U.S. funds), made payable to "UDM School of Dentistry."

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE UDM SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION HAS BEEN CHANGED SINCE THE PUBLICATION OF THE ADEA AADSAS DENTAL SCHOOL SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION SECTION. APPLICANTS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS DIRECTLY TO UDM WITH THE INITIAL APPLICATION.

they have been requiring official transcripts for the past..... forever I think.

But now, UDM's admission is under a new person and I heard (not 100% sure) they are no longer going to require official transcripts.

your best source of GOOD RELIABLE information about this kinda stuff is calling the school... they are very good at picking up. If you leave a voice mail, they usually call back on same day.

I emailed them about it as well, and this is the reply I got:
"Currently, we are not requesting official transcripts to be sent directly to us from your college/university attended. The information received from AADSAS will be sufficient and we will only require official transcripts if you are accepted or if the committee would like to see official transcripts prior to an interview or acceptance offer. However, if you would like to send the officials, we would place them in your file."
