i have also been off island for about 6 years now, so i am definitely a non resident! i put my current residency (which is WA) on the residency form. i was considered a resident for interview purposes because i met 3 of the 5 criteria they have for determining residency (interview only). when you interviewed, did they tell you something similar? dean Izutsu told me directly that i would have to pay OOS tuition if i got in.

sounds like you have a good case to be considered a resident.

hey, there is already a facebook group, search for JABSOM Class of 2013.
there is a thread called 2008-2009 UH JABSOM 2ndary which has more people who have been accepted. we should combine threads or invite the accepted people here!

+1 on this; with a relatively small class size, this should really be a given.

To address the topic of OOS tuition the first year, it looks like those of us who have established residency elsewhere but still have strong connections to Hawaii will probably have to pay OOS tuition in '09-'10. I've spoken to the residency officer at UH and they will probably look into your independence/dependence status, state(s) in which you have filed taxes, etc. There are a few M1 folks in the '12 class who had to take this route of paying OOS tuition first, while establishing HI residency for the subsequent years.

I just got an email last night with the physical/immunization, intent to register, and rest of the matriculation forms. My forms say that deposit is due postmarked by May 8, then physical forms must be received by June 12.

Hello JABSOM 2013's..
I just found out that one of my friends has a place to rent asap...He is a totally nice dude and the rooms are clean (I know because I helped him clean the friggen baseboards).
