The thread title says it all; anyone have any idea how Iowa structures their interviews?

Fairly formal. It's not a back and forth conversation since faculty are only there to ask select and ask questions from a set list. 2:1.

A faculty member will call you from the presentation room and walk you to the interview room. There will be a table with a timer and a second faculty member. They let you know they will begin by reading a statement, which pretty much just says the interview will last a set amount of time (I think 15 or 20 minutes) and that they aren't allowed to chime in. Answer the questions to the best of of your ability.

The interview feedback section for Iowa is a great resource for prepping. The majority of potential questions seem to have already been posted by other members, and they don't seem to change them from year to year.

Good luck! Everyone's incredibly nice.

Rachael is always willing to answer questions and responds via email promptly.
