I'm having a hard time deciding between the two schools. They seem very different and I can think of pros and cons for both of them. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Creighton:
Pros:
-student and faculty seem extremely friendly
-students appear to be less stressed
-relatively diverse residency match list with many different specialties
-Omaha seems more exciting than Columbia

Cons:
-very expensive
-lower USMLE Step 1 scores

University of Missouri:
Pros:
-lower tuition (although I'm OS, I can claim Missouri residency within a year)
-Patient based learning seems effective and engaging
-high Step 1 scores

Cons:
-heavy focus on primary care and rural health care (I'm not too interested in either)
-Columbia doesn't appear to be very exciting (I'm not into college sports)

I think Step scores are primarily dependent upon personal preparation. Given that Creighton matches students into competitive specialties like plastic surgery and ortho surgery every year, I wouldn't worry too much about the school's step 1 average. It seems to me like you're leaning more towards Creighton based on location and student life, so I would say Creighton. Go to both second look days if possible to confirm your decision.
