I wonder if it would be easier to get into the PharmD program in puerto rico??
Does anyone know anything about this school or is anyone planing on applying there???

I have no idea... Puerto Rico sounds so... foreign. Not really, but still. You can always try, I guess.

Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, and as such is considered part of the country. Universities there are accredited by the same accrediting councils that accredited US mainland schools, so getting a degree there is the same as any other US school.

Yeah but their website is in Spanish. =) I'm doing research for next year so I'll do some research and report back soon.

eddie, you need 6 s.h. of Spanish to apply to that school. Comprende?

I knew taking a full year worth of espanol in college would do me some good. lol. ummm, yo tengo el gato en mi pantolones?

I would hope there is NOT a cat in your pants! LMAO

But seriously--I have really been considering this school too--are their classes taught in English or Spanish!?!?

They actually have both spanish and english versions of their website. You most likely clicked on the spanish version. Look around the website and there should be an option to switch to the english version.

I should hope English. If they only require 6 semester hours. That was my summer SPAN 100 class. I would say it's not near enough to be fluent. Especially considering the jargon associated with science. Como se dice pharmacokinetics en espanol?

I heard that the class is taught in english, but when you consult with patients it is usually in spanish.

I dont know if the pharmacy school has the same rule as the medical school of the University of Puerto Rico. They only accept puertorricans or descendents of puertorricans, thats for the med school, dont know if the pharm school has the same rule.

Was at the school yesterday and asked a pharm PhD student who was from the states. She told me that while they do give some preference to state residents (state run school), they do accept apps from the US mainland.
