Hi y’all! So I am actually new to SDN and I wanted to make a thread for those who are applying to St. Augustine Fall 2021 cohort. I just turned in my application today and I am beyond nervous. I just wanted to share my stats with those who are applying so we could all see where we all stand at.

Stats:
Age: 23
Degree: BS Health science(Concentration in exercises science)
MBA w/ Healthcare management specialization
CGPA: 3.314
Preq GPA: 3.42
I know my stats are not stellar Or even that great, but I’m hopping that my work experience will make admissions look the other way. Hopefully someone else shed some light on to their application journey and give us all a warm and hopeful feedback! TIA!

Oh dang that amazing! Nice stats! Congrats on your acceptance! Did you happen to get an interview? And when did you turn in your application?

I didn't receive an interview, I just got an email saying I was accepted. I had everything verified on August 4th and heard back from admissions by August 12th, it may be a bit longer now that more people are submitting as the deadline gets closer. Honestly with your stats I wouldn't worry at all.

Hello! does anybody know if the GRE scores are super score (where they choose the best score) or they only focus one test at a time?

Hey! That looks awesome! As long as you have a Masters Degree, you are not required to take a GRE!

Good luck!

They take the best scores, I remember reading it from one of the admissions advisors.

Hi! I was accepted for Spring 2021 but thought I'd reach out since you're applying for the fall! I had a 2.85 cGPA, 3.4 pGPA, 3.01 sGPA and a 304 combined GRE. I had over 1000hrs of clinical experience (all outpatient) and loads of volunteer/leadership experience.
My advice is: don't let your GPA's get you down! I (obviously) did not have a great cum but it was my GRE that made up for it. If you're worried about your GPA's then I would suggest taking the GRE just to give you some more wiggle room. However, your GPA's fall into the average accepted GPA's so I wouldn't stress too much.
They were pretty good about getting back to me after submitting my application. I heard back about interviews about a week after I submitted; interviewed two weeks after I was granted an interview; and received my acceptance email/phone call three days after interviewing.

Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Hi there! My stats are very similar to yours and I was granted an interview on 10/13!! Do you have any tips, tricks, or helpful tools for the virtual interview?! I’m extremely nervous and I’d love any advice you could give. Thank you!

Congratulations on getting an interview!
My advice would be to practice answering common questions. For example, in my interview the main questions I was asked were how I handle stress, what my support system looks like and what my backup plan would be if I didn’t get accepted. So take the time to think about what your answers would be and practice the delivery. Also, make sure you have at least 2 questions ready to ask your interviewer, they gave us plenty of time to ask questions and get to know the faculty more. Ultimately: don’t stress! Just take a deep breath and be yourself. It was kinda weird to interview virtually at first but it got much more comfortable as time went on so don’t worry too much. I’m sure you’ll do great

Hi, do you know if age is a factor on their overall decision? I heard that non traditional students are more favorable in USA admissions. Just curious! and TIA!

Hey, I’m not sure if age is a factor, but I would assume that it is. It would help diversify the cohort which is a goal of many programs. I can’t say for certain if it helps or not though!

Im applying to Spring 2021 at San Marcos and my application became verified within 2 weeks of submission.

Did you hear back from admissions yet?
Yes! I have an interview today at 3:30. They contacted me 2 weeks ago, 3 days after my application was verified and submitted.

I was originally applying to the Fall cohort at Austin but the admissions advisor recommended the Summer cohort instead and said they like to reserve the Fall more for seniors who are graduating in spring. So she submitted my app for me on 10/12 for the summer 21 cohort at Austin. I hope I get good news soon!

Cum gpa: 3.5
Prereq gpa: 3.4-3.6 depending on school
GRE: 160Q, 154V, 5.0AWA
thank you, good luck!
Is USA your top choice? Cause I’m looking at all the other programs I’m applying to and honestly the tuition is all so crazy high and USA is technically lower by a few 1000s lol.

Got my acceptance this morning for San Marcos for May 2021! :)

Which campus were you accepted in

My application just got verified on November 2. I am applying to the San Marcos campus. Haven’t heard from them yet which is a little worrying! Here are my stats:

Age: 25
Degree: BS in Physical Therapist Assistant
CGPA: 3.6
PGPA: 3.8
GRE: 294
Observation Hours: 7,000+ (Most settings: acute rehab, outpatient, neuro rehab, SNF, home health) I have been a licensed PTA for almost 4 years now

I feel like I have a competitive application but still feel doubtful to get in Fall 2021. Its very stressful!

I was told when I submitted that it would take 4-8 weeks until I hear something from them. Hope that helps. I understand the stress of waiting but we just need to push through

The admissions counselor told me to expect a decision around 4-6 weeks, however, it may take longer since they are still trying to fill up the summer cohort. Don’t stress out too much, you got this!

Did anyone interview with USAHS Dallas campus on 11/13 and heard back yet?
If you don’t mind and can remember what types of questions did they ask and how many applicants were with you?

I was with 2 other applicants and 1 faculty member during the interview when they put us into breakout rooms! I think they asked 4 questions and we each took our turn answering them. It was pretty general and laid back! One question they asked was about how we handled not doing well in a class/what we can do to get back on track. Hope this helps!!

Hi everyone,

I got accepted to the San Marcos campus yesterday for Fall 2021! I am trying to pay my admission deposit in order to secure a spot in the program, but I have no way to log onto MyUSA Portal as I don't have a username or password.

Did anyone encounter the same problem?

Thanks!
