i start this thread just so you know there is another option for US citizen and GC holer. University of Tenessee school of dentistry has advanced standing program in two years leading to DDS degree. The admission requirement is similar to others and the good new is you just need to pass board I and II. The tuitition is also a lot cheaper than other schools. But the bad news is they only take citizen and GC holer as TN is a very conservative state in my point of view. i am not qualified to this school, maybe some of you could benefit from this...

You have to write to Associate Dean of Admissions, I think his/her name is Dr. Wisdom Coleman, showing your interest. He will send you the application pack.

yeah, there is not much info on their webstie. i got this from one of the associate dean. sorry i don't remember which one i talked with as it happened last year. i went there and asked him about this program. he told me there was one international student enrolled several years ago, and after that, they don't have any. at the end, he encouraged me to apply for GC first, which wasn't very helpful to me. but he is a nice person and would like to arrange the time for you to talk with their students and observing, etc. maybe you can just give them a call.

That's what I tought ... don't you have to be a TN resident too ?
I don't know, but a friend of mine (lives in Tennessee) called him up before, and was very upset by the conversation. He said that the Assoc. Dean was frankly rude to him, and spoke to him in a condescending manner. To this day, he has no clue why ... I think his name was Dr. Tumor, Oral ... something funny like that.
That's my input ...
Good Luck !

ur rite nile.I have a GC and I called U of T a couple of months back and they dint clearly tell me anything.but they said they preffered tennessee residents.and they have hardly any seats.

so clearly the requirement is GC, and a clear preference for TN residents.does anyone who has received the application package know abt the deadline to apply?

Last year it was sometime in December.

hi there,

the deadline for TN was 31st dec.. but they demand a GC.so that definitelt limits the non-GC's. 🙁
