I'm just looking for a little reassurance. I was accepted to the UW and Loma Linda. I chose the UW because of in state tuiton benefits. I know they are both great schools, but do you guys think I made the right decision? Which school is better in your opinion?

Loma Linda is better than the UW for clinical training, it is arguably the best on the west coast. However, UW is still great in this area. I recently talked to a former professor from the UW who told me the clinic is having substantial trouble with patients not showing up and getting enough patients period. Although UW is one of the best schools in the county of research and it is still a great clinic school. I would of chosen UW simply based on saving some money.

I've always heard that most of the west coast schools are clinically above average, but UoP and USC may stand out above others with more clinic hours.

UW is SO legit, it's not even worth the breath comparing it. To anywhere.

Not that I'm at all biased.

Plus Seattle is amazing, and nowhere near LA (thank God).

    1. There are many Koreans. Probably, the most!
---> As a Korean, GRAND ALUMNI NETWORK, too!!
---> This school is known to Korean a lot!

    2. Whenever I talk about IMPLANT, I can always hear "Loma Linda".
    IMPLANT = Loma Linda

    3. LLU is very rich school.

Actually, I want to ask if LOMA LINDA GRADING SYSTEM IS HARSH!

Generally, do u guys know which schools are notorious for their harsh grading system?

    Sad who? UOP? USC?
Most schools are having issues with paients now. Due to today’s economy, local dentists are dropping prices and getting closer to the DS one. Also, many patients are posponing dental visits, unless they are in seriuos pain.

I laughed so hard I woke my roommates up reading that.

I've talked to a ton of LLU graduates, and I shadowed one too. To be honest, they are unimpressive at best and they even said that the school was in the middle of nowhere and would not go there. They wouldn't even allow their own kids to go there. Also if you check my pre-dents, that was the only school I didn't apply to even though I am a Cali resident...even non LLU graduates tell me not to go there.

USC and UoP, and I would even rank UCLA above LLU clinically on the West Coast.

I realize that this is an old thread, but i have heard just about the exact opposite regarding LLU. It is by no means in the middle of no where and there patient load is actually very high

Your state residency is in Tenn...how many LLU rumors can you possibly hear? You also probably heard only exclusively dentists who graduated from there...i've talked to pre-dent students, current students, alumni there from both their DDS and graduate programs, and visited.

have not heard much about LLU, but there are very few schools overall that I would rank alongside UW.
