I'm currently a transitional intern and have funding from my program to attend an ophtho conference before my year ends. I start my ophtho residency in July.

Can anyone suggest a good ophthalmology conference being held between April-June of this year in the USA? "Good" could mean location, topic or other. I tend to get more out of small conferences vs. larger ones. (My backup plan is to go to ARVO if I can't find something more appealing)

Thanks for your help ahead of time!

ARVO in Ft. Lauderdale is first week of May. ASCRS is early April in Boston. These are bigger meetings but worth your while.

Ditto on ARVO. Arguably the best overall research meeting. Plus, the time would be right on for you.

Ocular Surgery News always has a calendar of meetings in the magazine and on the website I believe. So check that out. I think they are sponsoring a meeting in Rome in May. If your're not interested in research avoid ARVO, IMO.

While ARVO is pretty basic science oriented, there is still a lot of good clinical research presented. I love the more laid back atmosphere too. After attending many conferences, ARVO is by far my favorite, and believe me, I'm not a PhD or lab rat by any stretch.
