2017 2nd Annual Northeast Regional

Vascular and Interventional Radiology Symposium


Representing eight medical schools and hospitals in the NE region, we would like to invite you to the 2017 2nd Annual Northeast Regional Vascular and Interventional Radiology Symposium hosted by the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Rhode Island Hospital Department of Interventional Radiology.


The event is a regional collaborative event with Albany Medical College, College of Medicine at University of Vermont, Boston University School of Medicine, Tufts School of Medicine, Beth Israel Deaconess, University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

The event will feature:

· Case based lecture series by interventional radiologists from the various institutions of the NE region.

· Hands-on simulation session with faculty members demonstrating and guiding the use of the cutting edge IR technology and simulators that mimic real IR procedures.

· Networking opportunities with IR faculty and program directors of DR and IR programs.

· And more!

You are invited to attend the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Interventional Radiology Symposium for medical students.

The 5TH annual Mount Sinai Vascular and Interventional Radiology Symposium is hosted by the Division of Interventional Radiology at Mount Sinai with support from the Department of Radiology.

The goal of the symposium is to introduce current medical students to the innovative, minimally invasive, and clinically oriented field of interventional radiology. We encourage you to forward this e-mail to medical students at your institution who have expressed an interest in radiology, Interventional Radiology, and/or minimally invasive therapy.

Interventional radiology revolutionizes medicine through the use of image-guided, minimally invasive therapeutics. From the use of angioplasty and catheter-delivered stents for peripheral artery disease to the treatment of tumors with thermal ablation, Interventional Radiology offers an evolving and advancing array of medical procedures.

The Vascular and Interventional Radiology Interest Group at Mount Sinai aims to promote learning and networking opportunities for medical students interested in a career in radiology or interventional radiology. The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Mount Sinai is a leader in patient care, education, and research.

You are invited to the 3rd Annual UC Irvine Interventional Radiology Symposium on 11/04/17 at the UC Irvine School of Medicine!

At the symposium, you will be able to:
1 Speak with residents, residency directors, and faculty from multiple academic centers.
2 Learn about the latest developments and career options in Interventional Radiology.
3 Get hands-on equipment experience with procedure simulators.

This FREE program will run from 8 am to 12:30 pm at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

Inviting medical students to the Philadelphia Medical Student IR Symposium on Saturday, October 27! It will be hosted at UPenn from 10am – 5:30pm. Sessions will include faculty talks on diverse IR procedures, research paths in IR, and paths for training in IR. The day will also feature panels of residents, fellows, and attendings in the Philadelphia area and a hands-on simulation session. Registration is free. Sign up today at the link in the flyer!
