Hey guys and gals,

I know this was a topic a few weeks ago about what a 97% on the MCAT turns into (taken from the movie Meet the Parents). I just found a copy of the fax they use in the move in an ebay auction! I don't know how I came across it, but its worth a look - His scores are 14, 13, R, 15 on the sheet.

here's the link

for a quarter, it could be yours! Why would anyone buy this? I just don't know.

Maybe some crazy pre-meds want to post it on their wall and pretend its their own score 😕

I just bought it!!!

I am going to hang it on my wall, I think it's a great prop. Thanks for letting me know about it!

awesome follow-up

97 percentile is really about a 36 not a 42 like Gaylord Focker got.

But Focker's 42 is one point lower than my actual MCAT, why would I want to do that?! 😱

I take the MCAT next April. Anyone know when Meet the Fockers comes out? 😀

Yeah...you're right.

Moral of the story: Don't believe everything you see on the silverscreen.

Did you really buy it? It's a home-printed copy of a scan of the original, and the shipping is $6!

It is pretty funny though...

I knew there had to be one that would buy it. Of course, it had to be the Trekkie. How does this not suprise me?

oh, and I totally agree with a 97% is closer to 36. a 42R is definitely 99% since a 45T hasn't been reached yet.

They also refered to the MCAT as "the boards"

"Didn't want to go for the MD? Well the board's a killer"
"Actually, Greg aced his MCATs"

Notice both the refering to the boards gaff, and calling it the MCATs....what a subpar research department....

I prefer Trekker, for I do not enjoy the Original Season of Star Trek. The Next Generation and Voyager are the best.

I will mail anyone a copy of it who wants one. I won't even charge you $6 for shipping!

if thats not the original, it was quite dumb to pay 6 bucks for that....

didnt he get a 98%? nonetheless, 42 is too high for 98%

Nice thread.... 🙂

I doubt that's the original prop - the same thing has been sold and re-sold for many months.

By the way - those who said 36 or 37 was the 97th percentile were right on. 42 is solidly in the 99.9th.

I know lots of people who refer to the MCAT as the "MCATs." And you also have to concede the fact that DeNiro(or whoever was asking about 'the boards') doesn't really have any clue as to how to go about getting "the MD."

It's not as if they were all a bunch of physicians laughing about a lowly nurse or something.
