Updated Letters

I am a reapplicant...i applied in 2001 and here I go again.

I was wondering, is it important to have updated letters?..I mean I have letters written by people in 2001 and I am wondering whether I should have them write in some stuff about what I have been doing the past year...is that necessary?

How important are updated letters?

well my experience is that you need current letters. If you are working in a lab, taking new classes or doing something new I would defiinitely get a letter or two from those people. as for old letters...my pre-med committee re-did letters for me for a new composite packet. I sent each prof an update on what I have been up in the 4 yrs since I graduated college!!! hope that helps!
