I just called UPENN and they have started to review our applications using the preliminary information sent by AMCAS. Since they do not have essays with their secondary.. should we assume they are going strictly by numbers? What do you guys think? :(

I don't think it is fair to say they are going "strictly by the numbers". Penn has been asking people to send copies of their AMCAS - plus lost of people are verified (or are being verified before Nov 1) so I suspect that they have essays for a majority of their apps...That said, Penn is obviously very big on GPA/MCAT...I hope I get an interview...

Okay you are right, Just called back and spoke to Rena(Rina?). She says preliminary means information from AMCAS as well as the hard copies we sent in. And they are actually going with the stuff we sent in because the AMCAS information has prived to be incorrect! WHEW!
:D
