You ARE NOT an URM; as I said before . . .you are seeking to spark a debate and racial tension based on old racial
scars. The timing couldn't be more perfect and appropriate . . . people's emotions are charged . . . especially with many looking angrily, and with grave dissatisfaction, at "bleak" MCAT scores. Sir ... you can do better than that . . . seek peace!

    Hey,

If I'm not mistaken it's not too late to apply and retake the test in August. Believe me, you have time to study and do better if you really want it. You need to put in the money for some good review material and also bust your butt studying 6-8 quality hours a day at least 6 days a week until the time the test rolls around. It's all a matter of being prepared and how bad you want it. You have got to review to the point where everything including freshman chemistry is fresh in your mind.

I didn't start studying for last years August MCAT until around this time. I did exactly what I said above and I did quite well. You can do it if you want it.

    Get nuts!

You can find the stats for admitted URMS in allopathic schools on the AAMC website. The stats for URMS in osteopathic schools are likely to be similar.

A URM with a 22 is a shoo-in at most MD schools and all DO schools. Apply broadly and you'll be fine.

I'm sorry but it's true. Same admission rates as asians with 33-34 or something like that.

    LOL You're crazy.

Not true. That's the old definition. Schools are able to classify as they wish now. University of Utah, for example, considers filipinos to be URM. Some schools consider ALL Hispanics to be URM.

Fun fact. Thanks to my northeast regional bias, I am one of 18 people in my grid location who isn't at a usmd school now. haha. Woops.
