URochester interviews

For people who are interviewing at URochester or have previously interviewed there, where are you guys staying? I know a packet with more info is coming in the mail, but I want to hurry up and figure stuff out 🙂 How are you guys getting from the airport to the school?

I just got an email with host names. That would be the cheapest option. You'll probably get yours soon. If you want I can forward mine to you. The airport is not too far from the school - a cab wouldn't kill you. Unless by coincidence you have the same interview day as me - I have my truck parked at the airport could give a friendly stranger a lift - thats good karma for interview day! 🙂 I used to live near there, spent some clinical time in the ED... its like a racetrack, you'll see what I mean.

My committee letter was sent out 8/13/04. So I guess I was completed around 8/16/04? I just heard from URochester this morning, which would be about 2 weeks.

Uh, the Rochester airport is closest to the University of Rochester. I wouldn't advise calling the admission department and asking them, they might revoke you interview.

Seriously, the end of the NW facing runway is less than two miles from the school. The damn planes used to fly over my house all the time ARGH! One tip, always check for flights into Buffalo, they are often several hundred dollars cheaper making it smarter to go there and rent a car.

hey i live in rochester. for $200 i'll pick you up, let you stay in a spare bedroom in my parent's house, feed you breakfast, iron your clothes, and be your personal tour guide.

Hey, just FYI for the Rochester interviewees:

The airport is very close to the med center and to the hotels/host's houses you'd likely stay at. Cabs are pretty cheap and if you stay at some of the hotels, they have free shuttles to and from the airport and to and from the med center.

I'm pretty sure my name is on the host list. (not josehernandez, my real name!) I live about 6 or 7 miles from the airport and you could get a cab to my place. We have a nice house here with a spare bedroom and pull-out couch. I could give you a ride into the school on the day of your interview since I have to be there at the same time.
