US medical student interested in UK residency

I'm a third year US medical student and we will begin applying for internships/residencies soon and I am curious if it is possible to attend UK residencies (post-med school training) with a US degree? Also, how would I go about doing that? Do i need to take extra tests, etc? Thanks!

Are you an EU citizen? I think the likelihood is remote that you would get a training post in the UK with a US degree. The training is longer (2x), you learn slower, and you will not be able to return to the US if you do go. I would reconsider it.
