Hi guys,

I applied to USC this year and was rejected based on their calculation of my pre-pharmacy math and science GPA. I had a bad freshman year when I took my bio series and got C's which really brought me down, but I got a different calculation from theirs. Based on their calculation, I'm about .05 off. Anyway, I have not taken 3 science courses included in their GPA because I couldn't fit it to my schedule and I had to finish the required courses for my major. However, I will be taking these classes in the winter or spring. I'm going to be working full-time so I can't take them in the fall and they are not offered in the summer. I was wondering if I would be rejected again without an interivew due to this same reason. I've tried talking to the admissions office about this, but they haven't really given me any clear answers. One person says they do take people with lower pre-pharmacy math/science GPA's, another says wait until you take the classes. I'm thinking that applying early might help because last year I applied at the deadline. Anyone have some advice about this?

I think it is in your best interest to apply once you completed your pre-reqs. believe or not there are a lot of people who applied to pharmacy school who already have a degree or completed their pre-reqs already. I think admission committe looks favorbly on those who have completed their pre-reqs than those who is in their works. they want to see consitency and your ability to perform well on those pre-reqs. especially on sciences and esp. on gen chem and org chem. that's my opinion.
