I seriously hope they aren't playing games because that would be evil! If there is good news in that envelope I'm going to call admissions and make sure that the "good news" is legit. LoL. Also, I hope that smiley face at the end of Xin's name is not just a tease. Aaah! Goodness. This is driving me insane. The mail can't come soon enough. 5 more hours until it arrives.

Just called Xin to see if I could get any more information about this mysterious envelope, and she said "lets just wait till you get the envelope". She neither confirmed nor denied admission. Now I'm starting to worry!!!
the people who received a letter from Xin most likely have been admitted. Around the same time last year, this was going on as well. People were surprised to receive an email, but yet at the same time were freaking out.
Although the class was full, students admitted do deny their acceptances to go elsewhere. This is most likely the cause of USC going off the waitlist now.

This is a really good coping mechanism that you've developed vultron LoL. I'm adopting a similar mechanism where I'm just thinking to myself, "This is too good to be true."
These past conversations have proved that it's much easier to believe "the not so good things" than it is to believe the good things. If you know what I mean.
Maybe it's USC's policy not to verbally tell the applicant they have been admitted. Maybe it's just policy to send out the acceptance through a written letter. Who knows!!????

Well if you're from LA or the OC you might get it today.
I'm from San Diego I might get it today or tomorrow.
My best friend just received her acceptance!!! She was I think around #30 on the waitlist and also received that same notice from Xin! She's in LA (lives a few minutes from USC). I'm so happy for her!!! We're going to be roomates in the fall!!!

Why would it not be an acceptance? 10x13 envelope? Sounds pretty clear to me. And yes, I know the waitlist is really arbitrary but that doesn't mean it's still not frustrating that a bunch of people below you are getting in. Anyway, Vultron you sure do like those exclamation points. hahaha

Received my acceptance today! I was number 20 on the waitlist and I did not send in updated transcripts or a letter of intent. I was getting ready to send in stuff when I was accepted!

I got an e-mail this morning on my phone, and I screamed!!
Re-applicant here, so it feels that much better after 2 full years of waiting

A prospective student sent me several questions which I have answered below. I hope this helps fill in some of your missing information and dispel some rumors about USC students.
Yes. USC is different than many other schools.. for one, our ~800 pharmacy student body allows us to have more leadership opportunities, more involvement, and substantially more interest in national pharmacy organizations. We simply have more manpower to run them. Most students get involved and stay involved. This is a big reason why many applicants are accepted to the school, because they are more likely to keep up this tradition.
Many experiences.. culturally, socially, and educationally diverse experiences.. take my word for it.. you will realize this in the first (introductory) week
Pharmacists not only need to be academically talented, but must be socially comfortable as well. You have plenty of opportunities to get out in LA and hang out with your fellow pharmacy students, especially in the fall semester (on that note, I recommend waiting until the Winter to get a job). Going out to happy hours, or parties, or health fairs is a good thing..

What you are incinuating is that all students at USC are snoby and rich. As a matter of fact, a majority of the students at USC are receiving a substantial portion of their tuition payments from government loans. It is one of the best investments you can make as it comes right back to you when you graduate.. consider a pharmacist's starting salary. Furthermore, most graduate students at USC have completed 4 years of undergraduate education. Realize that the majority of people in this world cannot afford paying for 8 years of college education without financial aid.
I am happy I chose USC. I spent 4 years at UCSB in undergrad and a year full-time at Costco pharmacy..USC School of Pharmacy is well-respected internationally, just got their re-accreditation, and is here to stay. Welcome to those who have been accepted. You've got a lot to look forward to.

Haha..I'm wearing a UCSB soccer shirt right now... There are weekly basketball games, but currently no soccer. Considering there are ~800 students in the school, I believe we could find a few more interested in a weekly soccer pick-up game next year.. congrats on the acceptance!..btw theres a soccer field across from campus- and a baseball field..basketball courts..its a park u know

Thank you Espada! I'm going to choose USC. My mentor is a USC alum and seeing all the advantages that she had through the amazing alumni networking had made me want to go there from day 1 of apps.!

For those who got accepted to USC when does financial aid start sending you info about stafford loan lenders? I have sent in all my financial aid documents and I just want to know what steps are next. Also, I sent in my deposit and the background check forms, when should I be able to see any difference in the Admissions Checklist portion of that online site?

Have they sent you your award info. If they have, the info on lenders is online. If not, you might contact them to find out if it's posted yet.

my waitlist number is 57... do you guys think I have a chance? I'm worried about financial aid too. they only notify you of your award when you get accepted right? is it possible to get accepted a week before classes start and then get no financial aid?
