So I got a letter today telling me to re-take the DAT from USC, either USC did not get my DAT scores or they confused me for the wrong person. They said that my DAT scores did not exceed or come to the average (i am guessing 19). I got a 23 TS/21AA/21PAT so i have no idea what they are talking about. I got this letter when i got home at 6 pm Cali time so i tried calling them but they are closed at 5!!!! NOW i have to sit here at home this whole weekend scared as $hit and praying that they messed up until Monday to call them. What do you guys think happened???

Ohhhh!!! I remember that letter, lets see...you can flush it down the toilet after doing something with it. I got that in the previous cycle and am expecting it as well in this cycle. dont worry about it, usc is very unorganized this year, they sent me a confirmation that i have paid the app fee, but when i called to check on my file they told me Im missing my app fee, nyways

as for the letter, its a mistake from their part for sure, dont worry about it, when i called them last cycle, they give u this lecture on the dat stats that it would be best to retake, and then they connect you to a counselor that says well you dont really have to take it, dont worry about it, im sure they messed up, have a nice weekend

I was accepted, rejected, and then accepted again all in 1 day!!! And I went to the interview without paying an application fee. They asked for it at the end of the interview I said 'no thanks'.

Stick with Pacific as one of your top choices!! Why pay even more than Pacific to go to USC?! 😱

I remember you got a low score on QR could this be it? Im just saying maybe its what they are thinking, most likely though they messed up, make sure they got your new scores and not the old ones!

I didnt put all the schools i applied to, only the important ones I really want to get into. But yea ill update it right now and put USC....thanks for the reminder

I heard that USC is taking an entirely new approach to this PBL (problem-based learning) concept. Usually PBL is applied once dental students begin classes, but this year they're starting it during the application process, giving applicants a variety of problems and seeing how they learn from it. Ok, that's not true, but it sure seems that way.

They sent me a letter saying that every part of my application was done, except for my DAT scores (even though I had taken my DAT over a month earlier). Then, I checked online and the online status said that every part of my application was done except for the secondary fee (even though I had gotten a receipt in the mail for it a week earlier).

So, osimsDDS, take everything USC has to say with a grain of salt.
