Hey everybody,

New to SDN here. I hear that the EM interviews at USF-Tampa are unusual in that there is a clinical vignette or something to that regard that the applicant must figure out? Does anyone know any specifics about this?

If you're concerned about having to read an EKG don't worry, they got rid of it. They actually mentioned that having that as part of the interview process may have deterred potential candidates (perhaps from reading SDN).

The EKG's were so painfully obvious...I have to agree with apollyon. High peaked t-waves in a patient who missed dialysis?????? Apparently, some applicants took great offense to being asked to interpret an EKG regardless of how easy and obvious it was.

In reality it was a great opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge...i.e. "Hmm..appears this Pt has hyperkalemia. I'd give insulin/glucose, bicarb, kayexalate" etc etc. 😳
