USMLE and COMLEX...generic or brand name drugs?

We have been told that the COMLEX uses generics and that the USMLE does as well. If anyone has taken it they can speak from experience... THis is word of mouth from profs.

I can attest that only generic drug names are used on the USMLE

Although the COMLEX exams, I feel, are poorly written, and I try to repress such trauma, I believe chemical (generic) names are used.

Generic names on both. In fact, if I correctly recall, theyuse generics on all of the steps on both exams up to & including your initial Board Cert exams. However, for the specialties that already have adopted periodic re-Boarding policies, both generic and trade names are on the re-Board exams.
