I just took the USMLE World Practice Exam 1...does anyone know what the Assessment Score is? Is it meant to be interpreted the same way as the score from the NBME exams?

All of my little blue bars aren't THAT close to the far right...but I still got an 800? Can we get higher than this?

Confused....?

Ok. The entire reason why I asked was because I've never DONE a real assessment before. I didn't buy the NBME exams, so I've never seen an official assessment score. I only did the practice NBME exams via PDF-file and then compared my answers with friends/looked them up.

And I didn't get everything right on the World sample test. I'm reviewing it now, and I percentage wise I scored about a 86%. THAT's why I'm asking, because I don't know how the assessment thing works. For example, the USMLE reports a 2 digit score and a 3 digit score, right? But we all know that you max out at 99 on the 2 digit score WAY before you max out on the 3 digit score. So, USMLE World said that a 800 = 265. I was wondering if that is how their algorithm calculated a 800 to be, with the possibility of going higher, or if the ceiling from their prediction maxed out at 265.

It was an honest question. I don't understand why you're being so snarky about it. If you don't know the answer, or unwilling to help, then why even reply?

The UWorld assessment scale doesn't seem to match up identically with the NBME scale.

I had identical USMLE score projections on NBME and UWorld assessment tests but the pre-converted scores were different.

Now let's everyone take a deep breath, loosen those sphincters and remind ourselves that it's just the internet. It'll be ok.

I took this test, and I got like, the highest score possible. Can some one "help" me with this? I mean, its like i cant do better. What should I do? I dont understand... If i have the best score, should I tell everyone on the internet that I dont understand that I got the highest score? This is weird. I got like, the highest score. Did I mention i got the highest score. I mean i didnt get them all right, but I did get teh highest score. Thats weird, isnt it? Its like I did the best out of anybody. I mean its not perfect. What would my score be if i got a perfect? I'm close to perfect. But I'm not perfect. I only got the highest score. Everyone, please help tell me what I should do if I got the highest score possible and want a perfect score!

Did I mention i got the highest score?

Seriously dude, dont post that **** here. People are stressed enough about their 220, they dont need you telling them that you havent studied and just rolled into the highest score possible on a practice exam. Obviously you have reached the 99.9999 percentile (which I do not believe, since you are clearly lacking in the, well, knnowledge, common sense, world skill realm). You cant get better than that. You can get more questions right, but you will still be in the 99.9999 percentile.

lol you realize you have another thread directly above this asking why you missed a classic cardiac tamponade presentation right

53yo F w/ HTN brought to ED after collapsing. Prior to admission, she had stabbing chest pain radiating to left shoulder. Pulse 110, BP 160/80. Heart sounds distant, pulsus paradoxus is present. ECG shows low voltage and ST wave changes. CXR shows widening of mediastinum. Dx?

a. aortic dissection with cardiac tamponade
b. HTN crisis
c. massive pulmonary thromboembolism
d. myocardial infarct with congestive failure
e. rupture of papillary muscle

So, choice A sounds tempting, b/c of the distant heart sounds and pulsus paradoxus, but I thought aortic dissection was supposed to be chest pain radiating to the BACK--and not shoulder? Also, in cardiac tamponade, wouldn't you expect HYPOtension because of decreased CO--so I'm confused why the BP is 160/80?

Then I thought -- well ECG and with classic chest pain maybe = MI and she ruptured papillary muscle so is having acute mitral regurg? But then that doesn't explain any of the muffled heart sounds, etc etc.

And the other choices don't make sense.

<---- confused, help!

I had EXACTLY the same thing just happen to me...so I wanted to come ask what it means but thankfully you have been a martyr for the cause already! 🙂

Seriously though, I also got 86% on Form 1, 265/800, and I'm kinda pissed off...Some of my things overlapped with the 'borderline' region.

I have taken a NBME (form 5 a week ago) and got 247, but now I'm not sure whether I have gone up or down or just stayed the same? Studied f**king hard, so wish the assessment could give me an indication of whether it helped at all...

*sigh*

Has anyone gotten 86% on World SA Form 1 and gotten their results back yet?

This test was kinda weird. There were 2 blocks that I did very well on, then 2 blocks that I sorta bombed. Did anyone else have the same experience?

It certainly felt that way...first two blocks were tough, next two were better. But my scores were 87,85,85,87. I seem to have no idea how well a test is going. (Thought I waxed a World block yesterday, more than the SA, and then I got 68).

Gonna walk out of the test center and and be like 'YES! I SO got into three digits just there!'...

if we are talking about the same test, I had the same experience,
first block I got a 50! and I was about to die as it was my first block of any assessment, next three keep going up and up, got 90 on the last one....
wierd
funny we all had a similiar experience...
