I used USMLEWORLD as an online question source for Step II and Kaplan's Q-bank for the same purpose while studying for Step I. So this is my basis for comparison and I am much more happy with the results (prelim, albeit as I just took step II last week) after using USMLE WORLD. There were scattered typos and a few questionable "answers," but all in all, the 2000+ questions adequately covered the material for Step II without including excessive information. I did not feel the same way after using Q-bank for Step I because of unnecessary questions about haplotypes, developmental milestones, etc. Furthermore, USMLE WORLD is cheaper. I know that the overwhelming opinion is that Step II is not as challenging as Step I, but even after correcting for this my opinion stands. Save some bucks by using alternatives to Kaplan.
