Hi- Just wanted to get a list of who will be going to USUHS this fall or is a current student already. Please list your class, what branch you're in, and if you are going to OBC this summer. Also- if you want to list any other info (family, where you're from) that would be great.

I'll start:

Class of 2007, ARMY, will go to OBC this summer

I also have a family, including my wife and 3 kids, a 7-yr old daughter and 19-month-old boy/girl twins.

Hey, it's like our own little internet formation!

I will be in class of 2007, Army. I will NOT be at OBC this summer--I already attended the AMEDD OBC in 2000, and I am a current AMEDD officer.

I am married, but we do not have children. We hope to have kids while in med school.

I will be enrolled Army 2007 class, barring Medical disqualification. (due to current conditional acceptance). I will be in AMEDD OBC this summer 15 June-26 July.

Not married, finishing up final semester in Undergrad and in ROTC in the State of WA.

Look forward to seeing you all either in June (OBC) or August!

Hey!

I'll be in the ARMY class 2007 and I'll be attending OBC this summer in San Antonio.

I'm finishing up my undergrad degree at UCLA as well as finishing up ROTC.

Anyone else going to OBC from Southern California?

UCLA Paratrooper

So far the Army is winning out! Hoo-ah!

Hey!
I'll be part of the Navy 2007 class, and will be at OIS this summer! Right now I'm finishing up an MPH at UMD. Can't wait to meet you all in August!

I am most likely goin to USUHS next fall. I will be in the ARMY. Not sure if I can make the OBC though....my school ends around the same time it starts.

Hey Sri, it's me Jetson (we TA together). Didnt know you were an sdner as well. As for me, I will probably be attending USUHS but whether I do or do not, I'll most likely be able to make OBC (if I finish my M.S. in time) either as a USUHS student or an HPSP student for the Air Force. Go Falcons!

Caffeinated (or anyone else who may know), can you recall if you are paid during OBC (for the Army) base pay as an O-1? Or do you have to complete OBC before getting officer pay?

Any other tips about OBC anyone can share?

Yes, you will be on active duty at OBC, so you will be getting paid. If you have enough cash on hand to get you through a few weeks, it might help out. When you get to Ft. Sam, you will find that the finance office there is slow. They will try to force you to take a $2500 advance (because the finance office is too slow to figure out how much you should really be making), which you will pay back over the course of the next year (taken out of your LES each month). If you can avoid it, don't take the advance. It's annoying. Long after you spent the $2500, you see the $200 disappear from your pay each month.

If you haven't already received it, you will also get your $300 uniform allowance (one time payment). You will also get BAS, and if you are away from your family for more than 30 days you will get a family separation allowance, which isn't much, but it can pad your wallet a little on payday.

I will be in the 2007 class at USUHS - Air Force (of course). I am in ROTC right now at the University of Pittsburgh and am prior enlisted.

Look forward to meeting everyone in August!
