UT Galveston is led by Karen Wagner who is probably the world's top expert in childhood mood disorders, and she is involved in clinical care with fellows. Probably 2 of the 4 spots are taken by UT-Galveston residents each year as the program is not malignant and has good faculty. Call is almost non-existent.

I don't know anything about San Antonio but I interviewed at Galveston and thought it was nice. Good faculty and everyone seemed pretty friendly. I almost felt bad about not ranking them higher but I wanted to get a more robust experience with consults than what they had available. Also, I'll admit that I was a little apprehensive about living in an area with a hurricane risk. That being said, the call is pretty light there, which is attractive in its own kind of way.
