Anyone heard from Utah? I interviewed on 1/6 and i am anxious!

better find some way to calm yourself because you've probably got at least another month before you get any news. sorry.

I have read in this forum that there have been some acceptances already even though the admissions said that the results are out in April. Looking at the admissions process based on points, 7 or more go ahead to next step-so do the rejected application get informed earlier? Or no matter what everone = the rejected and accepted get notified in April?

Hi. I'm sorry I can't answer your question with authority, but I can share some information. Yes, Utah has already accepted some (~28 last time I heard) and rejected some. The admissions office told me that it takes roughly three weeks for the selection committee to consider your file after you interview. Some of the ~28 lucky folks heard right around the 3 week mark ("immediate acceptance") and I know there were others that interviewed in October/early November and got their letters in January. So... you could potentially hear in about 3 weeks if you ranked high enough (if the past pattern still holds true). Or, since it's getting close to April you may have to wait for the big batch of final decisions. Who knows?

Good luck. Try not to go insane during the wait like I did. :luck:

Hi Jaider,

Are you an instate or out of state applicant to Utah? I am a out of state applicant. Congrats on your acceptance. Great going.

Basically if they tally your points and it's obvious you'll be at the tippy top of the list because of your high total score they'll send you an acceptance quickly. Otherwise they wait until they've interviewed everyone and see where the chips fall and let you know in March.

Thanks. I'm in-state. The accepted folks seem to be a mixture of in-state/out-of-state. There's around 9 from Idaho accepted already, I heard. From this forum I've noticed 3 in-staters who've been accepted and one from Vermont (is that right humuhumu?). So, I'm not sure if in-state/out-of-state is a factor in the early offers. Medicine Bird is probably more of an expert since she's a current MS-1 and Presidente of her class, verdad?

Cheers.

I wish there was some way they could give me my score and then give me the average acceptance scores of previous years or something, then I would at least have an idea where I stand. This waiting is driving me crazy 😱 . I just have a feeling there is a big fat rejection letter with my name on it, and I'd like to get it sooner than later, then I could go on with my life. I guess if there's a nice acceptance letter I can wait a couple more months!

A lady from Vermonth interviewed the same day I did 01/06/06. I wonder if it is the one you mentioned humuhumu? If so, than I am........? Nowhere? Request Vermont applicant: Did you interview on 1/6/06?

Nope. I'm male and interviewed back in October.

I'm sorry. I hope you all hear soon. I know the waiting is excruciating. My "three week mark" hit right around Christmas time. Those few weeks were horrendous for me. I was so stressed out-- anxious to find out if I could get an early acceptance (best Christmas present ever), or even an early rejection so I could decide whether I should apply to Masters programs. To be honest, I spent the week before Xmas in bed crying from stress. My mom (yes, I live at home), worried, would peek her head in once a day to check on me. When I finally got my letter my parents and I all bawled together. Relief!

So, anyway, I know it's torture and hope yours comes to an end soon!

I wote to Utah and asked " If a student does not make the 7 points after the interview stage and is then automatically rejected from the next stage. So, when will Utah let the rejected student know?" I was told in March. So, I guess in my case if I am accepted it will be late March or early April? Gosh, now I don't wanna see any mail from Utah till April! If Utah does not want me I am going to a DO school where I am accepted.

Jaider,

Hi. How did you figure out 9 Idaho residents got accepted?

I am curious about this as well. First, I thought that Idaho only got 8 automatic spots. Second, I was told that they would select most of these spots in late March and early April. Maybe I'm just wrong and out of luck. 😱
