Can someone, anyone, provide me with information on what their externship experience was like at UTHSC-Houston. Was it stressful or a walk in the park? What were your likes and dislikes? How do you feel about the way you were treated as a newbie? Did you feel as if you were being taught by the residents/staff or just being pimped to see what you didn’t know? Any and all tokens of knowledge would be greatly appreciated, especially if it comes from current residents at the program.

Thanks

Come on folks. Help the rest of us out by contributing to the debate. 75 views and no opinions on the program at the heart of the matter. Is the question so dull that it doesnt warrant anything more than a peek. 😕

It's a good externship, plenty of teeth/lacs/pus. We will keep you busy. You don't get pimped that much because you're not supposed to know anything. You are dumber than an intern...which we all know is pretty dumb.

You're overrating interns.

To the OP: you'll have to find your own housing at UT Houston. I spent a month there and enjoyed it, but I have a cheap place to live while I was there.

You can stay at Ben Taub in the call room now.

I did a month stent on trauma as a surgical tech there when I was a Navy Corpsman. Just bring your nine or in my case your forty or whatever you got.. Sweet- Ben Taub is sweet, I didn't even have enough time to set up my Mayo stand..
