My friend was a student who rotated there on the wards service... He said it was a nice learning atmosphere. The faculty is very knowledgeable and friendly. Good cases and night float is in place. The didactics is what he enjoyed the most - they are very structured and you get a lot out of them.
I don't know what happened after Hurricane Ike hit. I think they will continue to have 3-4 residents a year (I'm not sure on this). I believe they are fairly close to the Neuro faculty at Austin.
