I am in a similar situation as you and am deciding between Long and another school. Long seems so amazing...except the grading, which is a huge deal.
I also did not get an amazing experience at UTMB because of similar reasons.
So overall, I would say you should go with Long. Yes, the grading really sucks, but it seems you would be a lot happier there than UTMB. In addition, Long seems to emphasize community outreach, which is something I did not really get from UTMB. So if helping the underserved is something you are interested in then Long is the way to go.
