When I interviewed at VCU I liked it alot but I definetly was not as blown away as I wanted to be. Maybe it was the day, my interviewer (very weird) or whatever, but I thought I would like it better.
That aside, it is a very excellent school and I have a good feeling that the students are interesting and cool. Its also a great school to go to if you haven't done your undergrad in a big city.
I liked UVA better when I interviewed there and liked the area better too. It's a smaller, less urban area than Richmond but thats what I wanted for medical school. I liked the buildings and hospitals better than VCU personally.
But it really just depends on your own experience and needs. I know people who picked UVA over VCU and vice versa. Check out the schools for yourself.
