Seem to be many who have had interviews at UVM already while I just (Nov2) got my invite for Feb2. Any ideas on rolling admissions or tiers of invites? As an OOS applicant getting an interview this "late", am I destined for the waitlist at best? Anyone been admitted yet?

oh, thanks.

to the OP: i am "oos" and was invited as well but i don't know anything about tiers for interviews -- i bet they're just crammed with applications right now and you got the earliest one handed out in november. i wouldn't worry too much about it.

lucky u guys. i'm, still under review and waiting.

honestly, it doesn't mean anything. if u read my other post, other schools do the same. my friend got an interview invite at vanderbilt before secondaries came out. pitt is also on the same track.

it does 🙂 this is your brass ring!

Better luck to you, i interviewed and got rejected there, already!! Nice and quick.
The town is really small and i just couldnt see myself living there, anyways. The school is nice though, but too many undergrads walking around. Whatever you do, dont give any political thouights. i think my support for bush leaked out and the interviewr was very hippie type, older woman wearing sandals, weird.

Regarding oos, there isnt much of a diff, but the waitlists ARE diff for vermonters and hampshires. I cant believe anyone from those states goes to med school but they do, and they take up spots.

hey, if u dont mind me asking, what are your stats like?

UVM usually takes around 4 weeks I think. I got WL, OOS.

Maybe you want Ski2Doc's stats but mine might be of interest since I fit an (unusual) profile the likes of which UVM apparently nibbles at sometimes.

I'm 40, have two children and a career (high school teacher) behind me. 29T MCAT but a lowish undergraduate GPA (around 3.0) bumped up somewhat with my Master's (molecular genetics) grades if they calculate those in. Got my interview based on that AMCAS profile. What UVM didn't know until I confirmed my interview is that I've started med school in Ireland (5 year program so returning to restart a 4 year program makes some sense). Presumably THAT should help. Also nailed a hard course last summer in MolCellBio that they just learned about. Fingers crossed but sure don't want to linger on a waitlist when I need to make decisions here in Ireland. :luck: (Never used smilies but the shamrock was irresistable here.)
