Just curious everyone about the the VUMS waitlist. I know they interview such a crapload of ppl, is it even worth trying to really make a push off of it? Also, is it ranked? can u call about ur ranking? any and all info about their waitlist procedures would be much appreciated.

I think there is a point in trying to get off the waitlist. I was talking to a friend of mine who is an M1 at Vandy right now and she said that 4/5 people in her lab group got in off the waitlist. I do not think it is a hopeless situation. I don't believe they rank their waitlist, but sit down and look at everybody again on May 15th. Good luck!

Yes, they do waitlist almost everybody that doesn't get accepted. I think there are three tiers to the waitlist. I would definitely call the dean to see if he'll tell you what tier you're in and what he thinks your chances are. If you're in the upper tier, there's still a good chance, Vandy takes a couple dozen people off the waitlist (which for their small class size amounts to almost half their entering class.)

When did you interview?

I interviewed in early August; thanks for your advice/help.
Do you think its to early to call now and ask what tier I'm in or should I wait?

ok.. since i JUST got waitlisted..... let me tell you what I think of the situation... first of all, boooo. but anyways, on the letter it clearly states that they won't touch the waitlist until May 15, and then, the Dean will mail you another letter telling you where you rank on the list. if u really want to go to vandy, do ur financial aid and so forth.

if anyone knows how to find out where u are on the list prior to May, let me know. i am curious
